Mike is off enjoying a weekend with his brothers and parents to celebrate Nick's 30th Birthday in Columbus. The kids have been doing really well but before bed tonight they mentioned how much they missed him. They wanted to let him know they were anxious for him to come home so below you can hear their heart-felt sentiments:
Annika played in her second piano recital on Saturday. Her first recital was last spring at our church, and it featured all of her piano teacher's students. Saturday's recital was special - each year the Piano Teachers' Forum of Grand Rapids hosts a series of recitals on a Saturday at the Saint Cecilia Music Society, and each teacher can select a few of her students to participate. This year Annika was asked if she would like to do it, so she did. Her piece was called "Alotta Staccata". She was the first performer in her recital, and the ages ranged from beginners like Annika to students in high school.
Annika's performance is below - I screwed up and had the camera in photo mode when she started, so I missed the introduction. We thought it went really well.
