Bonk

It's dangerous being a boy. For example, you can be running in to the room to watch Star Wars with your Dad, trip over your own two feet, and end up hitting your head on a chair! As you can see, the end result is NOT pretty! Luckily the doctor says other than looking funny for a few days and probably having a lump on the forehead for a while, everything will turn out fine. He also mentioned that this is just the first of many such injuries we should expect our dear Jake to have! Sounds like something to look forward to!

Liar - or, maybe not

It is currently 8:40PM and Mike just put Jake to bed. We were talking together when we heard little footsteps on the steps. Lo and behold, there was Jake! When we asked him what he was doing downstairs he replied, "Annika said, me go downstairs." Liar! Annika is in her bed! What a stinker! (Boy was it hard not to laugh!) This is one of Jake's new favorite phrases -- "Mom said..." or, "Dad said..." usually ending with something he wants! So, Mike just went to put him back upstairs. While upstairs Mike went in to check on the girls. He asked Annika if Jake had come into their room and she said No. She then told Mike to go check next to our bed. She had put a note there for us. Mike asked if she had seen Jake up when she went into our room. Yup - she had and she even talked to him. Mike asked her what she told him. She replied, "I told him to go downstairs and find you!" Guess he wasn't lying after all! Ahhh, the joys of parenting! It's a never-ending adventure!

Our Trip to Meijer Gardens

On Saturday we went to Meijer Gardens with my parents to see the trees and trains. The train was definitely a bigger hit than the trees (at least with the kids). Jake spent over 45 minutes watching the train jumping up and down each time it went into a new room.
